Electrical System Engineer Receiving Terminal (Russian speaker) (Kıyıköy)


We are recruiting for a Electrical System Engineer (internal job title: Power Systems Engineer) to join our team in the Receiving Terminal in Kıyıköy, Turkey. You will provide and maintain the necessary level of power supply equipment of the Receiving Terminal. You will ensure a smooth operation, proper maintenance, repair and modernization of energy equipment, electric and thermal networks of air and gas. You will be reporting to the Head of E&I Receiving Terminal.


As a subsidiary of PAO Gazprom, South Stream Transport B.V. is responsible for the construction and operation of the TurkStream Offshore Pipeline.

The TurkStream Offshore Pipeline will start in Anapa, Russia, running over 900 kilometers through the Black Sea to the Turkish coast. The pipeline will help secure energy supplies to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe in a reliable and sustainable way. The Project will use state-of-the-art technology, materials and equipment, to safeguard the pipeline’s safe operation for many decades to come.


  • Ensure smooth operation, proper maintenance, repair and modernization of energy equipment, electric and thermal networks of air and gas; 
  • Make applications for purchase of equipment, materials and spare parts required for the operation of energy facilities;
  • Develop standards of consumption and modes of operation;
  • Propose optimization ways for reducing energy loads in the peak consumption hours of maximum power system loads;
  • Participate in the testing and acceptance of the power supply facilities and networks, in consideration of the reasons of failures of power supply equipment and develops measures for their prevention, creation of safe working conditions;
  • Organize inspection and testing of relay protection and automation equipment;
  • Provide technical supervision for electrical and thermo-technical equipment used at the enterprise;
  • Provide preparation for operation of boiler vessels working under pressure, steam and hot water, electrical power facilities and other facilities, and for acceptance, verification and certification by state supervision agencies;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standards and specifications for power equipment; ensure compliance with the rules and safety standards in the operation and maintenance of power plants and networks;
  • Monitor the performance of repairs of power equipment, including major repairs;
  • Prepare reports using approved forms and indicators;
  • Manage application for the necessary equipment to be procured, spare parts and materials for power supply equipment;
  • Support technical documentation for the operation, maintenance, verification and calibration of the metering instruments;
  • Conduct technical training and improves qualification of subordinate staff;
  • Control the use and application of the measurements on all parts of the main and auxiliary equipment; supervise the staff working on main and auxiliary technological equipment;
  • Carry out all kinds of HSSE trainings with the representatives of other organizations; 
  • Organize safe work execution, operation and maintenance, sufficient tools and equipment support, maintenance at the site;
  • Check the condition of the equipment and tools in the workplaces, immediately take steps to remedy any deficiencies found, and check for compliance with the terms of the survey of protective equipment;
  • Participate in the development of accident-prevention training schedules;
  • Control the maintenance, repair, inspection and other activities of external (outsourced) and internal (SSTTBV) personnel, incl. construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Master degree in electric and power engineering;
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in similar role preferably within a operating gas receiving terminal;Knowledge on regulations, directives, orders, methodical and normative materials on the operation of power equipment and power supply infrastructure; Electrical Code of Turkey, EU, HSSE and Industrial Safety Codes;
  • Familiarity with international Codes and Standards (NEN, IEC, ATEX, TSE and GOST) is a must;
  • Knowledge on principles of operation, maintenance and reconstruction of the power supply facilities;
  • Experience in installation methods, adjustment, commissioning and maintenance of power equipment;
  • Advanced domestic and foreign expertise in the operation and maintenance of power equipment;
  • Knowledge on power supply fiscal metering system, Power Supply Management System, principles of tariffs set up for electricity;
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of economy, production and management;
  • Knowledge on rules and regulations of labor protection, HSSE and fire safety in the Republic of Turkey;
  • Previous experience working in international and multicultural environment as a plus;
  • Fluent in Russian, English and Turkish;
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills;
  • Stress and crisis resistant, reliable and highly flexible adjusting to current workload;
  • Ability to cope with strict deadlines;
  • Team-playing attitude; keen to work in multicultural contexts.
