Senior Engineer (Survey/Offshore Operations) (Amsterdam)


For this prestigious project we are looking to recruit a Senior Engineer (Survey/ Offshore Operations). In this function, you will be responsible for the marine surveys planning, pipe tracking system and maintenance activities. Senior Engineer (Survey) Client representative during, senior surveyor of offshore gas pipelines, which forms an integral part of an offshore gas pipeline system developed by South Stream Transport B.V. A good candidate would have a solid multidiscipline Oil & Gas operations related managerial / supervisory experience in a similar capacity with a various contractors and good understanding of offshore laws, norms and regulations.



As a subsidiary of PAO Gazprom, South Stream Transport B.V. is responsible for the construction of the TurkStream Offshore Pipeline.

The TurkStream Offshore Pipeline will start in Anapa, Russia, running over 900 kilometres through the Black Sea to the Turkish coast. The pipeline will help secure energy supplies to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe in a reliable and sustainable way. The Project will use state-of-the-art technology, materials and equipment, to safeguard the pipeline’s safe operation for many decades to come.


As senior project specialist leader, onboard co-ordinator and client representative on board planning/involvement in the following activities:

  • assessment of methodologies;
  • preparation of functional & technical specifications: Positioning systems, marine surveys, Geo-morphological surveys;
  • planning and supervision of all marine surveys activities;
  • data management and QC of all survey data by appropriate software, sealines critical situation check regarding the general state of the sealines in particular: geo-hazard situation, survey of the burial depths for the trenched sections, efficiency of the cathodic protection system, survey of the geometrical configuration of the sealine and the seabed profile, state of the interventions and monitoring of the dangerous situation;
  • sea lines routing, re-routing and survey data management;
  • detailed visual and instrumental acquisition data and preparation data for intervention works;
  • engineering support during installations activities by vessels, divers (if any);
  • procedure for installations activities;
  • risk analysis checks during survey operations in field;
  • preparation of the all basic environmental data for alignment sheets and detailed drawings for maintenance works;
  • supervision and QC of surveys data during: offshore ROV inspections and Divers (if any);
  • planning and supervision of the meteo - oceanographic activities, inspections and geo-morphological surveys in deep water and shore approach areas;
  • marine survey for sealines, electrical cables, service lines design, construction and maintenance activities;
    geo-morphological and geo-hazard study;
  • routing analysis, pipeline integrity management system, sealines related information system and data management;
  • preparation of procedure and recommendation during the sealines leak detection by ROV;
  • coordinate with external parties in relation to the offshore operation with respect to DNV standards/requirements;
  • Interfaces with other internal discipline engineers with respect to, welding, NDT, QHSSE, permitting, cultural heritage, detail design, procurement, subcontracts, surveys, munitions, crossing, post-lay interventions, and supporting functions of document control, technical queries and concession requests;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (BSc, BEng) or equivalent;
  • >10 years of experience with broad knowledge in offshore gas pipeline construction, maintenance, inspections, repairs;
  • Experience working in international and multicultural environment;
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of Russian will be a plus;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong communication, convincing and influencing skills;
  • Able to travel frequently and to work on site and offshore.
