Onshore Engineer Turkey (Kiyikoy)


We are looking to recruit an Onshore engineer who will be providing support mainly to ongoing onshore activities of survey, engineering and construction teams within the scope of TurkStream Project. You will be responsible to monitor that site activities performed by South Stream Transport B.V. (SSTTBV), its Contractors and Subcontractors’ site personnel on daily basis and report the same to Project Management team. You will report to the Head of Onshore Construction and other department leaders in construction team (incl. survey and permitting) for ongoing site activities, and local HSSE Expert for site safety and security issues, and Head of Turkish Branch from administrative point of view.


As a subsidiary of PAO Gazprom, South Stream Transport B.V. is responsible for the construction of the TurkStream Offshore Pipeline.

The TurkStream Offshore Pipeline will start in Anapa, Russia, running over 900 kilometres through the Black Sea to the Turkish coast. The pipeline will help secure energy supplies to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe in a reliable and sustainable way. The Project will use state-of-the-art technology, materials and equipment, to safeguard the pipeline’s safe operation for many decades to come.


  • As part of the Onshore Turkey Construction team, performing project or task management or coordination functions as delegated by the Project leads (construction, survey, permitting and HSSE leads in technical team), including contractor liaison, coordination of technical meetings, and general project supervision and coordination;
  • Observing and coordinating site activities performed by SSTTBV, its Contractors and Subcontractors to ensure compliance with the Project requirements;
  • Implementing construction/project control processes including interface coordination, management of change, risk management and any other process support;
  • Coordinating between the Project teams working on site for data collection, permitting, stakeholder engagement, as required;
  • Monitor work progress, and report any issues to Project leads;
  • When required by Project team, provide support to site personnel in Turkish communications while dealing with local Authorities;
  • Keep record of the activities, meetings, communications ongoing on site and report the same to Project management team on daily basis in details and on weekly basis in summary;
  • Inform relevant Project leads immediately about any critical issue, concern, HSSE incompliance, etc. highlighted by any stakeholder or as observed/identified during site activities;
  • Recommend actions to solve highlighted concerns, obtain relevant Project lead approval and ensure the implementation of the actions as instructed by Project leads;
  • Interface and liaise with local Authorities and/or stakeholder in relation to site activities, upon relevant Project lead’s approval on the agreed actions;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Engineering bachelor degree (preferably civil or mechanical);
  • Turkish citizen, locally resident in Trace region;
  • > 10 years of experience as project engineer at a construction site;
  • Understanding of interface management between various disciplines and various parties;
  • Fluent in Turkish and English (both verbal and writing);
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow;
  • Record keeping capability;
  • Ability to adopt international and multicultural work environment;
  • Excellent team player;
  • Coordination skills;
  • Class B driving license (off-road driving training will be provided by employer);
  • Safety awareness.
