Senior Communications Expert Turkey (Amsterdam)


For this prestigious project we are recruiting for a Senior Communications Expert Turkey. You will oversee and support all communications activities in Turkey for the TurkStream pipeline. Communications in Turkey are a key factor in the success of this multibillion euro project, and the job therefore offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the implementation of the biggest energy infrastructure Project in the world today. You will be based in Istanbul, with frequent travel to Kiyikoy (Turkey) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands).


As a subsidiary of PAO Gazprom, South Stream Transport B.V. is responsible for the construction of the TurkStream Offshore Pipeline.

The TurkStream Offshore Pipeline will start in Anapa, Russia, running over 900 kilometres through the Black Sea to the Turkish coast. The pipeline will help secure energy supplies to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe in a reliable and sustainable way. The Project will use state-of-the-art technology, materials and equipment, to safeguard the pipeline’s safe operation for many decades to come.


  • Develop and implement effective media relations strategies for the Project in Turkey and ensure that country-specific media relations strategies contribute to the overall external communications strategy;
  • Develop press materials (press releases, Q&As etc.) for the Turkish market in cooperation with the Senior Media Relations Expert;
  • Able to act as Spokesperson to media in Turkey when required;
  • Supervise editing of all publishing materials (factsheets, brochures, flyers, etc.) in Turkish;
  • Supervise editing and further development of company’s website in Turkish;
  • Identify suitable speaking opportunities in Turkey to position the Company’s Management. Present the Project in conferences and seminars in Turkey;
  • Coordinate and work closely with external suppliers/agencies/freelancers in Turkey and handle corresponding budgets.


  • Degree in Communications or Politics or other relevant field;
  • >5 years of experience in PR & Communications;
  • Track record in media relations and knowledge of Turkish media;
  • Has worked in an international environment or on large cross-border projects, ideally on similar projects (infrastructure, energy, engineering);
  • Experience in a PR agency will be a significant asset;
  • Experience in corporate publishing and/or event management will be a significant asset;
  • Excellent writer and presenter; able to persuade others with tact & diplomacy;
  • Native Turkish speaker, who is fluent in English;
  • Stress-resistance and ability to deliver under great time pressure;
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
